The 2017 OMC is underway in Ravenna, the event will serve as an opportunity for discussion to check on the progress of the policies that will make the Mare Nostrum a new central hub for the future of global energy.

From March 29 to March 31, 2017 Ravenna will be the center of debates and discussions regarding the energy future of the Mediterranean basin during the thirteenth edition of the Offshore Mediterranean Conference, the traditional biennial event that hosts major institutional figures and experts in the energy industry, from countries surrounding the Mare Nostrum area. The Conference will focus on energy and climate policies implemented to date, but will also be an opportunity to summarize and analyze the contributions that the industry can offer to achieve the economic and environmental sustainability goals. Opening the major event will be the plenary session of March 29 on the theme ''Transition towards a sustainable energy mix: the contribution of the oil & gas industry'' which will be attended, in addition to the Italian Minister for Economic Development, Carlo Calenda, by the Energy Ministers of Egypt, Iraq, Cyprus, Lebanon, and Greece, and the CEOs of Eni, Claudio Descalzi, and of Edison, Marc Benayoum.
