Norway-Iran deal on oil cooperation

At the center of the agreement is a memorandum of understanding between the Research Institute of the petroleum Industry of Iran and the Norwegian Aker Solutions to develop and transfer new and advanced technology to introduce into Tehran's Oil&Gas sector

The Research Institute of the petroleum Industry of Iran and the Norwegian Company Aker Solutions have inked a memorandum of understanding with the goal of expanding reciprocal cooperation in the oil industry. "Based on the document, the 2 sides will cooperate in developing new advanced technology in Iran's oil industry and the transfer of advanced technology, reported Fars News Agency," said the institute's deputy head, Amir Abbas Hosseini. Hosseini further highlighted that Norway, aside from being the number 1 oil producer in Europe, is also 1 of the countries with an ability to develop advanced technology that is recognized the world over. Tehran continues to move in the direction to once again become a main player in the global energy chessboard following the lifting of the sections.
