Iran has doubled its oil exports following the lifting of the international sanctions which took place in January. The announcement came from Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh during his visit to the 21st International Oil Fair in Tehran. Zanganeh explained that, while the sanctions were in force Iran exported only 1 million barrels per day (b/d), while "in a short time, the volume of exports has exceeded 2 million b/d". "We have managed to recover a portion of our share in the global energy market", stated the Minister, emphasizing that in order to ensure the development of the oil industry, not only sources within Iran but also foreign investments and technologies would be needed.
