China looks to renewable sources to lower pollutions

The country is fighting greenhouse gas emissions with clean energy solutions in its transportation system. Investments for 3.25 billion yuan in the past five years

Beijing steps up its commitment to green energy. "China will continue its 'green revolution' to reduce transport-related emission, promoting excavation technology and electric car," said the Chinese Minister of Transport Dai Dongchang during a ministerial summit in Leipzig, Germany. Over the past five years, the country has invested more than 3.25 billion yuan in reducing transport emissions; while in 26 electric public buses were introduced. On top of this Beijing currently produces over 1/3 of global wind power and plans on more investments in clean energy research technology and development.
