The WGC2012 Conference will present discussions and results of studies on the theme “Gas: Sustaining Future Global Growth”. The focus will be on issues such as strengthening the role of gas in sustainable development and balancing the needs of all stakeholders.
The United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED), held in Rio de Janeiro, and the 10th anniversary of the 2002 World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD), held in Johannesburg. The aim of the Conference is to ensure a renewed political commitment to sustainable development, and to evaluate the progress made to date and the remaining gaps in implementation of the results of the most important summits on sustainable development. There will be two themes: a green economy in the context of sustainable development and the eradication of poverty, and an institutional framework for sustainable development.
This is a highly prestigious annual event in the international energy world. Each year, it is attended by more than 2,500 authorities and 1,000 journalists from Russia and around the world.
An important event, especially in the African context, with an exhibition area of over 28,000 m2 and 700 exhibitors, which counts about 50,000 visitors. The six-day, in addition to exhibition space, offers a number of parallel activities including social events, meetings and conferences.
